More bottlenoses...

Not only did we have a couple of great dives on Sunday but we had a big school of bottlenose dolphins hanging about.... Having been windy before the weekend as well as after we were definitely lucky to not only get out at all, but have great visibility on Slattery's Bank and a new site which will probably be known as The OC from now on.
The dolphins started out in Ventry Harbour and moved east towards Kinnard before heading out to whereever they go. I was lucky enough to get some great footage as Neal towed me along in the boat - they were really frisky and would come flying up towards me, twisting and turning and veering off just at the last moment. I think they were attracted by my screams of excitement! Neal would have had a look if only he had remembered to zip up his drysuit before he got in the water.... ever had that sinking feeling?!
PS No we don't know if Fungie played them or shunned them completely.

Minke whale update

I was wrong! We do have a picture of one of the minke whales seen recently! Thanks to Tom Shropshire for sending it.

If you look carefully you can see the outline of the head at the edge of the photo which gives you an idea of the size.
